The congregation of Maon Noam Khakhan Jewish Synagogue and Community Centre at 910 Rutherford Road in the City of Vaughan is seeking an Amendment to Zoning By-law 001-2021 and Application for Site Development in support of developing a three-storey addition to the existing Synagogue and Community Centre. Three Pre-Consultation meetings have been held under the Planning Act in the City of Vaughan; June 9th 2016, December 13, 2019 and May 27, 2021. These meetings resulted in the completion of the final and revised Pre-Consultation Meeting Form/Complete Application Checklist for the required zoning by-law amendment.
LANDx Developments has successfully obtained the required Zoning By-law Amendment 003-2025 on January 28 2025. They are currently working on a Site Development application for this project. LANDx has ensured that the development meets City-Wide Urban Design Guidelines while conserving existing heritage features as a focal point for the design of the Synagogue expansion.
